How to Spend a Week

2nd day

Sleep late if you can, but the sun rises early and bright. The sound of birds singing as well as the excitement of the new surroundings makes it hard to sleep in. Spend a little time relaxing and down to explore the city. This is good time to go down with the helper. She can show you around a little, while she goes to supermarket to pick up your food selections.

We would return to the villa for lunch and then more touring. This is a good time to take in Shaw Park (a beautiful botanical garden) or

man
Coyaba Gardens, they are in the same area and equally as nice. Review the brochures to make your choice.

This would be followed by the drive thru Fern Gully. There are hundreds of different types of ferns and great craft vendors in this area. Remember to bargain, but take it easy, make a joke, Jamaicans love to laugh. On the way back be sure to stop by Wassi Arts. The is one of my most favorite places in all of Jamaica. It is a chance to not only see and buy some amazing art work, but meet the artist. These are without a doubt some of the most gifted people on the island. They love to talk to you and can make custom pieces for you. The kids will love this place, they are often invited to make their own creations.

Then it is back to the Villa for a great dinner and more reeeelaxing. Make sure to check out our collection of great Jamaican Video (Cool Runnings, Mighty Quinn, Clara’s heart and others).
