Cranbrook Flower Forest

A new attraction on Jamaica's north coast, Cranbrook Flower Forest, was designed to evoke a quiet and restful environment.  The key aim of this beautiful attraction is to encourage visitors to relax and enjoy nature. Cranbrook Flower Forest mirrors a slice of Jamaica's beauty, from the rugged splendor of the Dry Harbour Mountains to the pristine beauty of the River which originates on the property.   A gentle flowing river, a rainforest, a river-head, anthuriums and orchids are only a part of the offerings at Cranbrook.

Sited on some 120 acres of land 25 of which are landscaped, Cranbrook Flower Forest, is located off the North Coast Highway in St. Ann in the vicinity of Chukka Cove (Runaway Bay). Essential amenities such as washrooms, snack shop, dining are are in place.  An 0ld sugar mill has been rebuilt to serve as gift shop and museum. The museum will focus on local history and the sugar industry.  Other interesting outbuildings blend into the scenic surroundings. Cranbrook Flower Forest is ideally suited for a wide variety of functions, including weddings, nature hikes etc. Activities at present include nature walk (2 miles round trip along the Laughlands Great River to the river head), birdwatching, swimming/wading in the river, lawn croquet, volley ball and horseback riding.  Pond fishing will soon be available.   A US$5.00 entrance fee is charged allowing multiple visits.

"Harmony Hall"

Located 10 mins from Columbus Heights is a 150 year old Harmony Hall, originally a Methodist Manse and pimento estate. Since the restoration and addition of elaborate fretwork in 1981, it has been a showcase for the best Caribbean art and craft. Toscanini's an Italian restaurant is located downstairs.
